Three farmers across Virginia have implemented nitrogen rate trials to test corn yields alongside efforts to promote greater soil health. Next week (August 16th-18th), Virginia NRCS, Virginia Tech, and the Coalition are hosting a series of field walks to look at and discuss the on-farm rate trials. This will be a great opportunity for anyone interested in diving into this topic more to do so and see real world, on-farm examples.

The 2022 Twilight Corn N Rate Field Walks will take place from 6 PM to 8 PM with dinner provided at the following locations:
Tuesday, August 16th with Doug Fifer in Augusta County
Wednesday, August 17th with Paul Davis in New Kent County
Thursday, August 18th with Anthony Beery in Cumberland County

We plan to keep these events small and limit the number of attendees, so please register ASAP. Agency folks are welcome to join, however we will limit the number of technical staff attendees to ensure farmers have access to the events. We plan to host technical staff field trainings at these plots later in Aug./Sept. so everyone has an opportunity to see the plots and talk with the host farmers.
