A 60-acre vegetable, fruit and Christmas tree farm, one of PA’s oldest sustainable farm since 1972.
Tucked away in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains in Needmore, PA, with the (swimmable) Licking Creek running through the farm and wonderful hiking
OUR PHILOSOPHY is the ensure that everyone can afford fresh, pesticide-free produce so we offer affordable prices, a CSA, our own forms of subsidy, plus we participate in several local and federal subsidy program (WIC/Senior and Produce Plus), and donate produce to non-profits feeding families.

FULL-TIME: Seasonal or Year – round with winter vacation (dates negotiable) March – December
FARM STAFF SALARY: $1,500/mo, 1st month; $2,000 after 1 month, PLUS ROOM and BOARD, end of the year bonus. Health Insurance Plan if needed, Free WiFi, non-smoker and no drugs of any kind. Prefer folks who want to live off the land, with a vegetarian diet. Starting time is negotiable. Minimum 6-month commitment but negotiable.

We have several staff openings. Our farm is worker-run. Applicants are interviewed and hired by the staff.
Must be fully vaccinated, valid driver’s license & be able to work in the US.
EXPECT TO LEARN: all the basics of starting and running a farm including: starting seeds, greenhouse production, planting, fertilization, drip irrigation, high tunnel growing, farm management, cultivation and bee-keeping. Our staff run farm markets, sells to co-ops and we offer a CSA. Each staff person takes turns working at our farm markets and preparing the CSA shares. Philosophically, the farm supports a policy of growing food sustainably and pricing it affordably in mixed income DC area neighborhoods.
