JOB TITLE: FARM MANAGER
• Job Summary: The Farm Manager lives full time on the farm and will be responsible for overseeing day to day operations of our farm. This includes managing employees, maintaining farm equipment, ensuring crop production, and developing and implementing growth strategies for the farm. Manager reports directly to owner and works with owner on all responsibilities. Weekly meetings with owners to work out work schedule/seed purchase/planting schedule/equipment maintenance, trouble shooting, etc. This is a full time position.

• Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee day to day operations of the farm, including crop production and maintenance of equipment.
• Manage a team of employees, including hiring, training, and overseeing work performance.
• Develop and implement growth and production strategies for the farm.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations in all operations.

Key Qualifications:
• Knowledge of farming equipment and farm machinery.
• Experience in agricultural management, including experience managing a team.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to develop and implement growth and production strategies.
• Understanding of safety standards and regulations in agricultural operations.

Qualifications to look for include:
• Agricultural education or degree in a related field
• Experience in crop management
• Ability to manage people and oversee farm staff
• Financial and budget management skills
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Flexibility to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays during peak seasons.
• Research to consult with owner to improve crop yields, product quality, and profitability.
• Understand the importance of regular communication with the owners, and ensure that communication flows as needed.

Compensation
Negotiable based on farm management experience. Base salary starts at $35,000 plus Room/board/utilities
Workman’s comp, and health insurance if needed. One winter month paid vacation for full time.

Working with Owners
Farm manager reports to owner and collectively agree on all decisions and decision making
Regular scheduled weekly meeting
Work out work schedule/seed purchase/planting schedule/equipment maintenance
