Care Farming Network (CFN) Program Coordinator Description
The Program Coordinator will work closely with CFN’s Project Manager and Outreach & Communications Consultant to implement and develop new programs to support CFN’s member farms. This exciting new position will allow the Program Coordinator to help develop and implement new initiatives to fulfill our goals of increasing awareness and building the capacity and community of care farms throughout North America. We seek a candidate with strong interpersonal skills and knowledge in developing programs and executing events. The right candidate will thrive in a position that requires a range of competencies: representing and serving as an ambassador for the Care Farming Network at events, coordinating behind-the-scenes logistics, and developing CFN’s online resource catalog and library.
Job responsibilities include:
Event Coordination
● Plan and implement events that provide educational content to CFN members (events include virtual learning webinars, on-farm tour meetups, and in-person conferences)
Program Development
● Develop and implement a new Mentorship program for Northeast Care Farms benefitting people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities
● Develop an online Tool Kit of Best Practices for production farms working with people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities
Outreach Assistance
● Assist in increasing CFN membership by outreaching to new care farms and listing new member farms information in CFN’s online database directory
● Assist in raising awareness about care farming and the CFN by exhibiting and presenting at regional conferences
● Coordinate the CFN speaking and exhibiting schedule at regional conferences Support CFN’s Organizational Strategy and Development
● Assist in maintaining the Care Farm website & database
● Assist in collecting, monitoring, and reporting on program activities and measure outcomes against expected performance goals and objectives.
● Assist in defining and implementing Strategic Objectives and 5-Year Plan
● Develop and implement new initiatives based on the needs of Care Farms ● Work on other projects as the opportunity arises and as they are developed
Qualifications
● Experienced in conference management, hosting/facilitating virtual meetings, and virtual workshops
● Enjoys outreaching, organizing, networking, and building relationships
● Loves communicating, is a good writer, and is effective at selling an idea
● Passionate about Care Farming and its therapeutic benefits
● Experienced in website and content management systems and databases
● Self-motivated, likes to work both independently and as part of a team
● Thrives in a creative and innovative working environment
● Flexible and nimble
This is a newly developed remote work opportunity. There will be expected travel for four to five in-person meetings/events/conferences located in the Northeast region annually.
Estimated hours: 20 hours/week at $20- $25/hour.
