Kinloch Farm is hiring a Farm Market Manager and Sales Director Position

Kinloch Farm is a family farm based in The Plains, VA. We have been in operation for over 60 years on 1000 acres of grazeable pasture. We value creativity, collaboration, community, dedication, passion, and humility. We raise a historic breed of Aberdeen Angus that have been adapted to thrive on Virginia forage. We sell our products through our retail farm store located on the farm.

Job Summary:
The Retail Sales and Marketing Director will assist the Farm Director in overseeing our Grassfed Beef business and managing the retail farm market. This position is a forward facing position and will provide a routine presence in our retail market. This means a willingness to become knowledgeable about our farm, cattle, beef, farming practices, and products. This position will require regular communication with customers through email, social media, and website inquiries.

Qualifications:
Prior experience marketing and/or selling beef or other direct to consumer products
Retail experience in farm stand or similar context, including familiarity with inventory control and management, handling and merchandising farm products, point-of-sale equipment and operations.
Excellent customer service.
Willingness to work collaboratively, efficiently, and enthusiastically
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills

Essential Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:
Along with Farm Director, oversee farm retail marketing strategy
Social media management
Oversee Kinloch beef inventory and communicate needs/requests to farm team
Be comfortable fielding questions related to farming, meat, and cooking
Manage market inventory, ordering, and quality control
Maintain communication with customers
Oversee all farm market operations including orders, inventory, cash management, and daily reconciliation.
Troubleshoot computer point of sales systems.
Provide training and support for farm market staff.
Communicate with farm managers and farm crew
Provide excellent customer service and handle customer questions, complaints and issues in a timely and appropriate manner.
Maintain a high standard of cleanliness, aesthetic appearance and food safety protocols.
Restock and manage the display of freezers, refrigerators and dry goods shelves.

Compensation and Benefits:
This is a full time salaried position with a full benefits package including a full health insurance package, 401K, PTO, paid holidays, and an employee beef benefit.
