BULLETIN BOARD

Good Dog Farm is hiring!

Position Description

Good Dog Farm is currently seeking candidates to assist with all farm activities for the 2022 season (May through December). Tasks will include planting, weeding, harvesting, and packing organic vegetables for CSA and wholesale markets. Some experience working in farming or another outdoor work environment is preferred, but not required. Successful candidates will be motivated, with a high attention to detail, and a desire to learn. You will be working directly with us or our experienced crew leaders, and leadership positions are available for candidates with significant farming or mechanical experience. Applicants must be able to show up ready to move quickly and efficiently in all weather and enjoy working on a fun, inclusive team.

Given the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, it is also essential that new employees be able and willing to minimize their risk of exposure both on the farm and outside work hours. This also means being fully vaccinated and boosted, except for those exempt under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Agricultural work is essential work and we expect everyone on the farm to take each other’s health and the safety of our food system seriously.

Most positions are full-time, with some part-time availability for those able to take delivery shifts.

We work Monday through Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm with a 30 minute lunch break, and the start time will change seasonally based on daylight and temperature. Base pay begins at $14.00/ hour, more for experienced applicants, with the opportunity for a raise at 60 days and each year that someone returns. New hires will begin work in early to mid-May.

Job Requirements

A desire and willingness to work outside (in the rain, heat, and cold too!)

Reliable transportation to and from the farm

Ability to lift 50 lbs repeatedly and easily, and work physically all day

Ability to work well in teams

A general can-do attitude and willingness to learn

We use sustainable growing practices to protect our soil and waterways, and strive to produce high quality, affordable produce for wholesale and for our 300-family online CSA subscription. Our name comes from our shared love of our two dogs who remind us to live simply and have fun every day.
