Farmers Market Senior Manager
Are you a strong project & people manager with experience in farmers market operations and a larger theoretical framework for promoting local, sustainable, and accessible food? Apply to be FRESHFARM’s Farmers Markets Senior Manager! This position is responsible for overseeing farmers market implementation and supervises a team of five direct reports, each of whom is responsible for a program unit (Personnel, Training & Development, Operations, Community Programs, and Farmers & Producers). In reporting to the Director of Agricultural Programs, this role will also provide programmatic leadership to promote positive and productive staff, vendor, and customer experiences. This is a demanding, highly rewarding, and mission-driven position that requires innovation and strategic problem-solving skills.

2022 Season: Market Managers & Substitutes
FRESHFARM is seeking lovers of local food to join our team as Farmers Market Managers! If you’re a creative and flexible problem solver who enjoys working on a team, spending time outdoors, and promoting regional, accessible, fresh food, this is the role for you. Market Managers are responsible for executing market operations, interfacing with stakeholders, and creating a vibrant and friendly market. If you’re interested in joining our team for the 2022 market season, we’ll be in need of Market Managers who can work as substitutes and/or consistently staff our various markets.

Food Access Translators (Volunteers & Contractors)
Help us translate Food Access program materials! FRESHFARM is seeking Mandarin and Cantonese interpreters as well as Chinese (Simplified / Traditional), Amharic, Vietnamese, and Russian translators to support our food access work. Your expertise will help us to improve access to healthy, fresh produce by translating and/or interpreting communications materials. This is a flexible position eligible for volunteer or part-time contract work and with options to work remotely or onsite with local community members!

Pop Up Food Hub Support Staff
The Pop Up Food Hub (PUFH) is the first (and only!) of its kind, offering hyper-local food access and distribution services by coordinating wholesale procurement from local farms for underserved buyers. PUFH Support Staff members are responsible for carrying out a variety of tasks required to successfully fulfill a market operation of the PUFH, including setting up equipment, packing out a variety of orders, and assisting with distribution. Come work with a collaborative, diverse, and welcoming team in a dynamic work environment with access to an abundance of local produce!

2022 Season: Pop Up Food Hub Community Delivery Driver
The Pop Up Food Hub (PUFH) is the first (and only!) of its kind, offering hyper-local food access and distribution services by coordinating wholesale procurement from local farms for underserved buyers. Using their personal vehicles, Community Delivery Drivers are responsible for fulfilling deliveries of PUFH produce bags — sourced from local farmers in DC, Maryland, and Virginia — and bringing fresh fruits and vegetables to our community partners and individual recipients. Come work with a collaborative, diverse, and welcoming team and gain first-hand experience learning about DC’s local food system along the way!  Seeking candidates who are reliable, communicative, responsible, expeditious, and successful at working independently.

Summer 2022: FoodPrints Classroom Assistants (Interns & Work-Study Students)
Interested in growing your food education skills? FoodPrints is looking for people to join our program as Classroom Assistants! FoodPrints Classroom Assistants will support preschool – 5th grade food and garden education as part of our summer program (July 5 – August 5). Applications submitted by May 15th will be reviewed with priority; applications may be accepted on a rolling basis after that deadline, pending program needs. Note: federal work-study option is only available to AU and GW students.

FoodPrints Lead, Assistant, & Bilingual Teachers
(Fall 2022; full & part-time)
Do you love being outdoors, cooking, and working with kids? If your answer is yes, then FoodPrints is for you! FoodPrints is FRESHFARM’s food education program that aims to make positive changes in what children and their families eat by giving them hands-on experiences with growing, harvesting, cooking, and eating nutritious, fresh, and seasonal local foods. We are seeking part- and full-time Lead, Assistant, and Billingual Teachers to join our dynamic and supportive teaching team. We are looking for candidates interested in joining this fall for the 2022 school year.
